Magic Wedding

We celebrated our wedding week at Chiesa Del Carmine this September! We had guests coming from almost every continent, and aside from the wedding day, we had 4 other events organized by Chrissie and Alessandra, plus all coordination of accommodations, transportation, and every little detail that goes into receiving 60 guests from 10 different countries! Chrissie did an exceptional job with all of the logistics, and everything ran very smoothly! We planned the events together remotely, and the ladies were always available for a chat via skype or facetime. Alessandra was always positive, calm, and reassuring, which made the distance planning manageable!

They did a fantastic job organizing the week, and the execution was beyond anything we could have imagined. The team created 4 days of absolute magic.

The sequence began with a welcome celebration at Carmine’s winery, Vineria del Carmine, as our guests met for the very first time. -Delicious Carmine wines, pizza, and starters, with plentiful local truffles on the menu!!! The food was the most important thing for us, and the menu really was perfection. The place looked stunning- lots of detail. The entire staff went above and beyond, creating an evening to remember.

The following day, tours and activities were organized for our guests to Assisi and Cortona, along with an incredible rehearsal dinner in the evening. Once again, everything executed exactly to our taste.

The wedding day was absolutely beautiful. We had 2500 roses flown in from Ecuador, which the florist Stefano handled with much care. Everything was decorated to our liking. Chiesa del Carmine sits in the middle of a valley, with the most remarkable views. The ancient church and farmhouse are restored so beautifully, and all of this makes the most romantic spot for an intimate wedding. Apart from this, the food was spectacular!!! The catering company organized by Chrissie was very professional. The food served during the antipasti/cocktail hour was amazing, followed by a very memorable dinner, and an impressive dessert buffet. Our guests are still talking about all the delicious food they had during our wedding!

The final event was a farewell bbq- a relaxing day after the wedding celebrations, which some enjoyed by the poolside. The food once again, fantastic. Luciano’s pork sausages were incredible- they were such a hit!!

It was a lovely afternoon and the perfect send-off for all of our guests. They were all truly blown away by these series of events, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time.

Simply Phenomenal

We spent a week with our family at the Chiesa del Carmine from June 27th to July 4th, 2015, to celebrate our symbolic wedding on July 2nd, for 30 of our close friends and family. Two words describe our experience – simply phenomenal!! From the moment we arrived and were warmly and professionally greeted by Chrissie, the property manager, we knew we’d made an excellent choice. This was further reinforced when we were given a tour of the farm house and grounds. The property has beautifully manicured gardens, a sparkling swimming pool, stunning vistas, superb accommodations, a well-appointed kitchen, and excellent locations for al fresco dining along with warm and comfortable common areas for gathering with loved ones. The pictures on the website truly reflect what the property is! The Chiesa is also an impressive venue to host a wedding. While we’re sure it can accommodate well over 50 guests, it was very comfortable for our group. Our ceremony was held in the Chiesa and thereafter, aperitifs, appetizers and a five course meal, which was superbly prepared, presented and served under beautiful azure Umbrian skies. Our night finished with dancing into the wee hours. It was a fabulous event and one we will remember for a lifetime. Perhaps in ten years we’ll all gather again to celebrate – although we’d actually love to do it annually!! We unreservedly recommend the Chiesa for anyone with discriminating tastes and high expectations.

Perfect Wedding

It was September 2013 when we chose this as our wedding venue having fallen in love with the place as soon as we saw it and, a year on, it was even more spectacular for our special day itself as the gardens had matured so beautifully. We wanted our wedding to be a small intimate affair with just our closest family and friends (c25-30 people) and Carmine was perfect. With 8 rooms it was large enough to house our immediate family for the week and our remaining guests stayed in either Casa San Gabriel (with Chrissie and David who manage Carmine) or Castello Valenzino which are both within a 1km or so. As the weather on the wedding day (Tues 2nd) looked a little unpredictable we decided to have the wedding breakfast in the church rather than our original plan of dining outside but in the end we were so glad that we did. The table setting looked amazing thanks to our wonderful wedding planner, Sarah, and the beautiful church just helped create the perfect atmosphere. Almost every single one of our guests commented that the food was by far the best that they had ever tasted at a wedding – in fact one was upset that she was only able to sample 4 of the desserts due to being so full! The magician that Sarah organised was brilliant, providing wonderful entertainment during the meal, and the after dinner music was enjoyed by everyone and went on until 4:00 in the morning. I think what we enjoyed most was that all of our guests were able to chat with each other due to the small numbers, as were we as the bride and groom without it being forced and feeling like we had to go and spend time with particular people. At one point every single person was one the dancefloor and that is certainly a rare sight at a wedding! On top of our wonderful wedding day we also had an excellent week of activities all expertly organised by Chrissie and David. On the Saturday night Alessandra came in and cooked for us, which was very welcome after a day of travelling, and on the Sunday night we had a wine tasting evening with antipasti which was enjoyed by all. On the Monday the boys played golf at a local course and had a meal in the clubhouse restaurant and the girls had a day at the villa and finally on the day after the wedding we had Alessandra return once more to prepare a sumptuous BBQ for us. Chrissie and David couldn’t have done more to make our whole week special both whilst we were there and in the 12 months leading up to the event. I think that the biggest compliment I could pay them is that we were delighted that they were able to attend our wedding as guests because they have become true friends to us over the past year. We can’t wait to go back to Carmine at some point as it has given us memories for a lifetime.
