About
The location is stunning, the scenery is breathtaking, the food is exceptionally delicious.
Chiesa del Carmine is the ancient church at the centre of the Carmine Estate, located in the heart of Umbria, 20 minutes north of the cosmopolitan city of Perugia and close to the Tuscan border.
The Estate is privately owned and has been slowly and lovingly restored over the last 10 years. Where there was once an abandoned valley, there is now a thriving farm including ancient terraced olive groves, a 5.7 hectare vineyard, a truffle wood and pasture, producing a variety of organic produce.
It is located at the foot of Monte Tezio in a protected valley, where the wildlife is abundant and nature thrives. The views in all directions are breathtaking. To the south, is Monte Subasio and the town of Assisi, to the west, the ancient castle of Antognolla and to the north, ancient woodlands and the Apenine mountains.
The 13th century Chiesa with its adjoining farmhouse is now a country house for 14 guests. We hope the attention to detail and use of the best local materials offers you a home you’ll want to come back to again and again. Last year most of our guests were coming for their second, third or fourth visit.
